Windows computers has been with us for quite sometime now. It made business more productive and less intimidating. Computer hardware eventually evolve to cope up with the operating system releases. Computers with windows have a big market share over its competitors from its existence to now. Lets take a quick rewind on how windows evolve in time.

How to check your windows version

My Windows 7 tips and tricks for today is checking the windows version of your computer. It  is relatively easy by using the "winver" command. It tells you the exact build of the OS and also the service pack. To use winver command, press window key + R to  open Run dialog box and type winver and press ok. A about window message box will appear for the information. You can also use command prompt to check the same information and also by using winver command. Just open command prompt and type winver. The snapshot below is my pc with windows 7 professional.

Google Handwrite for mobile devices

Did you ever wish to write your search query in your mobile phones? The answer now is Google Handwrite. It is still on beta but it has potential. While this can be new to many, it is wonderful to have it specially on search engines, sadly it is only available on google.com search page. This is very helpful in writing special characters like  + @ & $ # - * “ and etc. It is also available for different languages, change your language search setting to your preferred language under  Language of Search Results section in settings.

• Visit google.com homepage and go to the bottom of the page, touch settings and look for the handwrite section to enable and  disable it. Touch save when done.

@facebook email annoying auto switch

Many of us don't want others to mess around our online profiles right? Well facebook just did that, the primary contract email address that we post in out contact information has just been auto switch to @facebook. This is in relation to the facebook email promotion. Atleast facebook should inform their users before switching it right? For those don't want to use@facebook as their primary email contact details, follow this instructions to undo the auto switch done by facebook:

1. Log in to your facebook timeline profile.
2. Click About, then look for the Contact Info box and click edit on the upper right corner.

Simplest way to speed up old computer system without upgrading any hardware.

1. Install light OS - Installing light os will definitely bring woders to your old system. There are several windows xp light editions over the internet for you try or the best bet is linux distros that are known to its light on cpu requirements.
2.  Install selected applications only. A hard drive with too much applications installed will definitely slow down your system so uninstall unnecessary software that you rarely use.
3. Perform system optimization on a regular basis. There are a lot of software applications that can help us out in this, a lot of freewares.

Primary Partition

A primary partition is simply the partition where the operating system is installed. Most new operating system can be installed in any partition but in a computer system, there should be a least one active primary partition.

With the announce date from microsoft, the countdown begins for most of PC users. The most dominant OS had done a very good overhaul in this coming new release. With this new card of microsoft to battle the iOS and Android in the smartphone market, will this excel over the two OS. The slick new UI of windows 8 is new to users that most of us wanted to be in our hands once released.
